The Department of Mass Communication at Qatar University is an intellectual and scholarly community characterized by free exchange of ideas, knowledge production and dissemination, and a commitment to ethical principles of research and scientific dialogue. The faculty reflects diverse academic experience, cultural background and gender. They are fully engaged in conducting research, and presenting scholarly works in local and international conferences. During the past six-year accreditation cycle, the majority of faculty received grants to travel and participate in various academic occasions. The Department organized the AUSACE Twentieth Annual Conference that represented a unique academic and cultural event for both students and faculty.
