    Cultural Trips and Excursions


    The ANNS center organizes a number of cultural trips and excursions, which compliment a student’s academic experience. These trips represent a great way to immerse students in Arabic Culture and to enhance student’s knowledge about the local customs and traditions. The following are the trips that have been conducted recently:

    Museum of Islamic Art

    MIA 


    Students get a great opportunity to enhance their knowledge about the Islamic civilization and Arabic cultural heritage. They take a private tour of the museum with an interactive overview of the civilizations of Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia.

    Students get a glimpse of Qatari rich heritage and culture. An organized private tour takes students through the main periods of Qatar economic, social and political development.

    Msheireb Museum

    During a ninety-minute guided tour through the four museum houses students learn about Doha’s history and its unique architectural heritage; the petroleum industry, its origin and development; the cumulative social‭, ‬cultural and‭ ‬economic contribution of formerly enslaved people to the development of human civilizations‭.‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬


    The Doha International Book Fair is one of the oldest and largest international book fairs in the region, which dates back to 1972 when it was held for the first time. Since then it has gained international acclaim for having attracted the largest and most important publishing houses in the world.

    This trip offers students a great opportunity to get acquainted with the biggest and most important news channel in the Middle East. They get a glimpse of its foundation, rise to international prominence, current role in the changing scene of international media. Students have a chance to talk to members of the Al-Jazeera staff and are given a private tour of both the Al-Jazeera Arabic and Al-Jazeera English studios.

    Ajyal Film Festival



    Annual even that not only presents highly appraised movies, but also boasts a variety of cultural and social activities.


    It is a great opportunity for students to practice Arabic language skills while participating in open discussions and debates which attract international teams from all over the world.
