The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences offers four programs of study. The Graduate Programs comprise a PhD in Biological & Environmental Sc. And an MSc. in Environmental Sc. The two Undergraduate Programs are a BSc. in Biological Sc., and a BSc. in Environmental Sc. The PhD program equips students with the most advanced research skills enabling them to carry out research independently, publish and display innovations and creativity. The MSc. in Environmental Sc., accredited by CHES-UK is dedicated to the graduation of professionals and researchers, committed to the development of a sustainable environment in Qatar. The BSc. in Biological Sc. covers the basic structures and functions of living organisms, ecology and molecular biology well as environmental biology, environmental management and conservation, biotechnology and genetic engineering. The BSc in Environmental Sc. is an accredited (CHES-UK) interdisciplinary program offered in Qatar, to provide the region with capable environmental scientists. Offering specializations in either Biotechnology or Marine Science respectively.

The mission of the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at University of Qatar is to promote and contribute to the development and dissemination of basic and applied biological and environmental knowledge through high quality teaching, research and community services.
