    How to be Peer Tutor?


    Hiring Process:

    In Order to be Eligible for a Peer Tutor Position, a student must have a at Least 3.0 Cumulative GPA and a Minimum grade of B+ for the Specific Subject she/he wants to Tutor. After Submitting the Application Form and the Required Documents, short Listed Student will be Contacted for Interview. Subsequent to the Interview, she/he will be Notified if the Application has been Accepted.

    Documents Checklist:

    • Completed Peer Tutor Application Form
    • An Unofficial Copy of Academic Transcripts
    • A Letter of Recommendation from Faculty Member who has Taught the Student in the Respective Course
    • A Copy of Class Schedule

    Documents to be Added to the Tutor's File after the Interview and the Application Acceptance:

    • Tutor Agreement (Signed by the Tutor and his/her Supervisor)
    • Tutor Availability Form

    Total Number of Working Hours:

    • The student cannot exceed an overall of 5 working hours per day during weekdays (Sunday - Thursday), and 7 working hours during weekends and official vacations (whether working for one department or more). The weekly total hours worked cannot exceed 20 hours.
    • New Tutor: Maximum: 10 Hours/Week Depending on Service Needs
    • Senior Tutor: up to 15 Hours/Week Depending Service Needs
    • Minimum Number of Working Hours for all Tutors: 4 Hours/Week

    Probationary period:

    • 4 Weeks

    Payment for Tutors:

    According to QU Student Employment Policy, the Starting Salary for new Tutors is 35 QR, which will Increase to 40 QR After Completing 200 Working Hours.
