    Vision

    Our vision is to become a leader in physical education in the Middle East and North Africa in the areas of teaching and research in physical education and movement sciences. The department will prepare outstanding Physical Education teachers and practitioners who are skilled, competent, and committed to the development and enhancement of Physical Education in schools as well as contributing towards improving people’s physical activity, health and wellbeing whether for healthy people and people with special needs. 

    Mission

    The mission of the B.Ed. Program in Physical Education is to prepare prospective teachers to be reflective practitioners, with excellence in pedagogy and expertise in the field of Physical Education equipped with the knowledge, skills and dispositions necessary for high quality teaching and learning. Through a motivating, interactive, research, and practiced-based learning environment the program blends theory, reflective practice, and technology.

    Objectives

    • Develop knowledge, skills and competencies necessary for teaching physical education.
    • Prepare for evolving stage specific physical education curriculum, pedagogy, and evaluation techniques in physical activities and sports.
    • Deepen knowledge of personal and community health
    • Promote the capacity to organize and manage games, sports, and recreational activities.
    • Develop research competencies and capacity in physical activities and sports and foster a research culture as per QU research strategy.
    • Seek to stimulate a broad array of research internally and externally involving undergraduate students.
    • Build collaborations with regional and international partners to enhance the student expertise and the knowledge transfer.
