    Marketing Major



    Program Objectives:

    Marketing is the set of activities and processes aimed at creating value for customers, partners, and society at large. Marketing plays a key role in discovering customer needs and satisfying them. It is a driving force in creating successful public and private enterprises.

    Students with Marketing Major will be able understand customer needs through extensive research, apply marketing theories to new ideas and domains of products and services and develop creative ways to communicate these concepts.

    To pursue a career in Marketing, you need to have good analytical skills in order to understand market data, good communication skills, be creative and innovative and enjoy competition and success.

    The curriculum is grounded in real world contemporary marketing to help students develop confidence and professional qualifications in developing communication campaigns, market research, building customer relationships, or developing and managing new products and services.

    Required courses (15 credit hours, 5 courses):

    MAKT 301: Consumer Behavior3 credit hours
    MAKT 302: Marketing Management3 credit hours
    MAKT 303: International Marketing3 credit hours
    MAKT 304: Strategic Marketing3 credit hours
    MAKT 401: Marketing Research3 credit hours

    Elective courses (9 credit hours, 3 courses): Students with a Marketing Major may choose 3 courses from the below list:

    MAKT 402: Sales Management3 credit hours
    MAKT 403: E-Marketing3 credit hours
    MAKT 404: Services Marketing3 credit hours
    MAKT 405: Promotion Management3 credit hours
     MAKT 406: Business to Business Marketing3 credit hours

    Career Opportunities

    Examples of future career opportunities include Brand Manager, Marketing Consultant, Marketing Manager, Sales Manager, Marketing Director and other general management and leadership positions.
