    Management Major



    Program Objectives:

    Management involves the coordination of resources, both human and non-human, to achieve organizational objectives efficiently. It is essential to build market efficiency and sustainable profitability.

    Majoring in Management will enhance your career opportunities and help you understand the process of management including principles of organization, the need for division and allocation of resources, and the necessity of a hierarchy in large organizations.

    The Management program aims to prepare students for positions of leadership and responsibility in contemporary organizations. To take a leading management position, you need to have good communication skills, logical thinking, problem solving abilities and leadership skills. You also need to be firm and enjoy leading your team toward achieving its goals.

    The curriculum is grounded in real world contemporary management to help students develop confidence and professional skills in the areas of business planning, problem solving and decision making

    Required courses (15 credit hours, 5 courses):

     

    MAGT 301: Organizational Behavior (3 credit hours)
    MAGT 302: Human Resource Management (HRM)(3 credit hours)
    MAGT 303: Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management(3 credit hours)
    MAGT 306: International Business (3 credit hours)
    MAGT406: Total Quality Management (TQM) (3 credit hours)

    Elective courses (9 credit hours, 3 courses): Students with a Management Major may choose 3 courses from the below list:

    MAGT 305: Comparative Management  (3 credit hours)
    MAGT401: Quantitative Methods for Decision Making     (3 credit hours)
    MAGT402: Organization Theory   (3 credit hours)
    MAGT 403: E-Business  (3 credit hours)
    MAGT 404: Project Management  (3 credit hours)

    Career Opportunities

    Examples of future career opportunities include Human Resource Manager, Management Consultant, Managing Director, Leaders of government and private institutions, and other general management and leadership positions.
