Safe Urban Street Dnesign For Vulnerable Road Users
Qatar Transportation and Traffic Safety Center (College of Engineering, Qatar University) in collaboration with the International Road Federation (IRF), and Khatib & Alami Company are organizing a Certified Professional Training Course on "Safe Urban Street Design for Vulnerable Road Users".
This course discusses the reasons behind pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists’ crashes and their high severities in terms of fatalities and serious injuries. Furthermore, this course addresses concepts and considerations for the design and operation of urban streets to provide safer environment for vulnerable road users. Furthermore, different countermeasures and policies, including education, enforcement and engineering measures that can be taken to reduce the impacts are also introduced in detail.
