    Prerequisites


    Applicants for the Full-time PharmD Study Plan

    The full-time study plan for the PharmD degree program is open to select Qatar University students who have completed the Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPharm) degree at Qatar University College of Pharmacy. This option is not open for non-Qatar University graduates.

    All applicants to the full-time study plan who meet the following minimum criteria will be considered for admission to the PharmD program at Qatar University:

    1. Completed a BScPharm degree with a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 out of 4.0 from Qatar University;
    2. Satisfactory performance in the personal interview (by invitation) as conducted by the PharmD Admission Committee;
    3. Underwent a bridge course assessment for those who have graduated more than 5 years from the QU BScPharm program and have had no pharmacy practice experience.

    Applicants for the Part-time PharmD Study Plan

    The part-time study plan for the PharmD degree program is open to select pharmacists who have received a BScPharm degree from an accredited pharmacy program outside of Qatar.  This study plan offers flexibility for pharmacists who are interested in attaining an advanced clinical degree while continuing to practice pharmacy.

    All applicants to the part-time study plan who meet the following minimum criteria will be considered for admission to the PharmD program at Qatar University:

    1. Completed a BScPharm degree with a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 out of 4.0 from an accredited pharmacy program outside of Qatar;
    2. Achieved a minimum score of 6 in IELTS (Academic) or 68 in TOEFL iBT, taken within 2 years of the start of the intended semester of admission OR earned a previous degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a program where English was the language of instruction;
    3. Satisfactory performance in the personal interview (by invitation) as conducted by the PharmD Admission Committee;
    4. Underwent a bridge course assessment to ensure the knowledge and skills gained from the applicant’s BScPharm program meets the learning outcomes necessary for entry to the PharmD program. 

     Admission into the PharmD program is highly competitive and is subject to current capacity and college approval.  Satisfying the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance.
