    CCP Civic Engagement Student Award

    ​​This award recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding civic engagement and commitment to addressing community needs in Qatar. The award celebrates students who apply leadership, empathy, and initiative to create positive social impact through meaningful community involvement, whether locally or globally. 



    The award aims to fulfil the following: 


      • Recognize excellence in civic engagement among CCP students 

      • Inspire students to become active, responsible members of their communities 

      • Promote a culture of social responsibility and inclusion at QU 

    Eligibility





    To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following criteria: 

    • All undergraduate students at Qatar University, across all colleges and majors, are eligible to apply. 
    • Applications must be submitted as part of a CCP course project or assignment. 
    • Individuals or groups of students may apply, with a maximum of five (5) students per group. 
    • Civic engagement activities may occur on or off campus 





    The Award 

    The award(s) will be nominated, by the designated CCP Student Award Committee, either to an individual or a group. 

    Awardees will receive:

    • Certificate of Excellence
    • Valuable prize

    Applicants for the award should: 



    • Demonstrate meaningful engagement in community-based initiatives 

    • Show clear evidence of initiative, leadership, and positive impact 

    • Illustrate how their initiative addressed a real community need 

    • Demonstrate achievement of at least one CCP Program Learning Outcome (PLO) 

    • Reflect on how a CCP course helped build transferable skills relevant to civic engagement 

     





    Interested students or groups must: 

    • Complete the online application form. 
    • Submit an e-Portfolio showcasing their civic engagement initiative
    • Submit a short reflection essay (250 words) 





    Required Submission Components

    1- Civic Engagement e-Portfolio (Core Product) 


    The e-Portfolio should include: 

    • Introduction to the initiative 

    • Evidence of engagement (photos, videos, screenshots, documents, social media, etc.) 

    • Description of actions taken and roles of participants 

    • Impact and value created for the community 

    • Ethical or cultural considerations 

    The e-Portfolio may be created using: 

    • Google Sites, OneNote, Wix, Canva, or similar 

    A link to the e-Portfolio must be submitted as part of the application. 

    2. Reflection Essay (250 words) 

    The reflection should explain: 

    • How a CCP course helped develop transferable skills (e.g., communication, teamwork, leadership, empathy, problem-solving) 

    • How these skills were applied in the civic engagement initiative 

    • Why these skills matter for employability and citizenship 

    This essay may be included within the e-Portfolio or uploaded as a separate file.
