The Gulf Studies Center Working Paper Series (GSC WPS) is an online repository of Gulf-focused research papers in the Social Sciences and Humanities. The GSC Working Paper Series acts as a publication resource to facilitate the rapid and open-access dissemination of work by Gulf Studies scholars, QU faculties, and other scholars working on the Gulf region. The papers cover the wide-ranging topics related to all of the major themes of GSC’s research clusters around Society and Culture, Politics and Security, and Economics and Energy. Some of these GSC Working Papers will be subsequently developed for publication as journal articles or adapted as book chapters. While all GSC WPS papers are open access and free to download, please properly reference any contents of these papers that are used in other publications by citing the author, year of publication, the title of the publication, and the number of the GSC WPS paper. We hope you enjoy this collection that forms an integral part of GSC’s rich institutional record.
