Student Competition 2026 Transforming Aluminum: Automation, Advanced Technologies, Sustainable Solutions and Industrial Competitiveness

This event provides an excellent platform for students to showcase their research and projects related to aluminium, particularly focusing on sustainability, innovation, and the environmental contributions of this versatile material.

This event is a chance to contribute to a significant conversation about sustainability and innovation in aluminium, and we encourage you to participate and share your insights.

• Smart Smelting - Digitalisation, AI and Automation: Explore how artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, digital twins, advanced sensors, and smart data analytics can improve safety, efficiency, productivity, and decision-making in aluminium smelters
  
• Decarbonising Aluminium Production through Innovation and Clean Technologies: Develop solutions to reduce direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions from aluminium production through innovative technologies, process improvements, and reduce the energy consumption.
• Circularity, Resource Efficiency and Sustainable Aluminium Production: Explore opportunities for recycling, waste reduction, by-product utilization, water conservation, resource efficiency, and other sustainable practices that create environmental and economic value in Aluminium Smelting.
  
• Enhancing Industrial Competitiveness through Innovation and Operational Excellence: Explore innovative technologies, process improvements, and business solutions that enhance productivity, efficiency, reliability, cost competitiveness, and long-term growth in the aluminium industry.
  

Students are encouraged to form groups of 3 to 4 members (Male/Female) to present their concept addressing one of the key focus areas.

• Abstract should contain project title, name, affiliation, and email ID.
• Abstract should not be more than 350 words.
• Abstract should be submitted using the given template format
  
• Groups should consist of 3 to 4 students.
• Proposed concept should align with the event's theme and key focus areas.
• The top 3 best projects will be shortlisted for an oral presentation (10-15 minutes).
• Each short-listed group will present their proposed concept on stage to an audience of experts, faculty members, and industry representatives.

• Abstract Submission deadline: 24 September 2026.
• Notification of Accepted Abstracts: 30 September 2026.
• Deadline for Oral Presentation Submission: 11 October 2026.
• Students’ Competition Day: 14 October 2026.
• Winners Announcement – Aluminium Symposium Day: 20 October 2026.
