    About the Program



    The launch of the Ph.D. in Law Program is an expansion of the graduate programs offered by the College of Law. After successfully passing the graduation requirements, the researcher is granted a Ph.D. in Law, 3 years after starting the study, which begins in the Fall semester of each academic each year. The researcher studies, during his study period, 60 credit hours, of which 12 hours are allocated to courses studied during the first academic year, and 48 hours are allocated to the doctorate dissertation. The research-based Ph.D. program is available in three tracks:

    1- The Public Law (in Arabic).

    2- The Private Law (in Arabic).

    3- The International Law (in English).

     

    This program will have a leading role in the economic and social development in Qatar, in line with the strategic plan of the State of Qatar, the strategic plan of Qatar University, and the vision of the College of Law. The program will prepare graduates with advanced research legal skills, and in-depth legal knowledge to be employed in legal issues and challenges needed by the State. Therefore, they contribute to fostering a culture of scientific research and disseminating scientific output at the local, regional and international levels. In addition, the program will increase the College research experience in the various fields of law; and it will increase research publications in the refereed journals accredited by the College of Law. This will also contribute to raising the ranking position of the College and the University at both the local and international levels.
